What are the responsibilities and job description for the 2024-2025 - Upper School - Spring Musical Director position at Isidore Newman School?
Isidore Newman School seeks a skilled theater arts educator to take on the role of Musical Director for the upcoming Spring musical, "Hadestown." Ideal candidates for the position should demonstrate exceptional musicianship and assume responsibility for overseeing all musical aspects of the production, instructing actors as they learn the music and guiding them during rehearsals and performances. Pre-recorded tracks will be used to accompany the production. The Musical Director will collaborate closely with stage and technical directors to ensure a seamless and unified production as well as attend production meetings. The Musical Director should be adept at working with a diverse range of individuals, talents, and personalities.
Responsibilities span from auditions in mid-December through the final productions on April 3, 4, and 5. Rehearsals are typically held Monday through Friday from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, and additionally on occasional Saturdays.
