Position Overview
We are seeking a highly hands-on Lead for Tax to manage and coordinate our global tax process in partnership with third-party advisors, while also supporting key accounting activities. This role is execution-focused, requiring strong organization, disciplined process management, and the ability to work directly with financial data.
Responsibilities
Tax Process Ownership & Coordination
- Own and maintain the global tax close calendar and all related deliverables.
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for tracking progress and escalating issues as needed.
- Coordinate with external tax providers across jurisdictions, including management of quarterly foreign tax reporting packages.
- Partner with ISG local financial managers to gather required financial and statutory information.
- Ensure all data provided to external advisors is complete, accurate, and clearly presented to minimize rework.
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of U.S. and international tax concepts, including FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, and cross-border considerations.
- Oversee and review all materials provided to external advisors, including intercompany data, prior to submission.
- Analyze tax implications of intercompany transactions and global cash movements at a practical level.
- Conduct targeted research and self-learning to understand relevant tax concepts and ensure effective oversight of external advisors.
- Review outputs from third-party providers for accuracy, consistency, and reasonableness.
- Participate in general accounting activities, including close support and journal entry review.
- Assist with revenue recognition analysis and related accounting considerations.
- Support account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of tax-sensitive balance sheet and income statement accounts.
- Perform variance analysis to identify and explain fluctuations in financial results.
- Bridge tax and accounting to ensure alignment between financial reporting and tax outputs.
- Validate and reconcile financial data from ERP systems for tax and reporting purposes.
- Perform detailed Excel-based modeling, reconciliations, and analysis.
- Maintain clear and well-organized documentation supporting tax processes and accounting treatments.
- Utilize ERP data to support both tax and accounting deliverables.
- Highly organized with strong process ownership mindset.
- Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and completeness.
- Hands-on, execution-driven approach.
- Strong analytical skills, including the ability to perform and interpret variance analysis.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clarity to avoid confusion and rework.
- Ability to independently research, learn, and apply new concepts as needed.
- Strong self-awareness and intellectual curiosity.
- Ability to effectively coordinate across internal teams and external advisors.
- This position requires commuting 4 days per week to our corporate headquarters located in Stamford, CT
- 10 years of experience across tax and accounting.
- Minimum 5 years in-house at a multinational organization.
- Working knowledge of U.S. international tax concepts (FDII, GILTI, Subpart F, intercompany transactions).
- Solid accounting foundation, including revenue recognition, reconciliations, close processes, and variance analysis.
- Deep Excel skills required (modeling, reconciliations, data analysis).
- ERP experience required; NetSuite experience explicitly preferred.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- Prior Controller or Assistant Controller experience is a strong plus.
- Experience or demonstrated ability to leverage AI tools in day-to-day work.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics
- Masters Degree in Tax preferred
- CPA required
