What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technician position at ISE LABS INC AND SUBSIDIARY?
Summary: This position is responsible for maintaining the operation of the test equipment and peripherals used in the test labs for photonics testing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):
- Set up, troubleshoot, and maintain test equipment and how it connects to ATE, etc
- Configure, operate, and program Advantest 93K, Teradyne uFLEX, Keysight, or comparable automated test platforms. Troubleshoot and resolve equipment malfunction and participate in the repair work when needed
- Diagnose and resolve equipment malfunctions; participate directly in repair activities when required.
- Perform hands-on assembly, alignment, and test of critical opto-mechanical sub-assemblies and photonic test systems.
- Coordinate and follow up on repair work performed by external or specialized service contractors.
- Maintain accurate records of preventive maintenance, calibrations, and equipment status.
- Order and track spare parts, consumables, and components required to support equipment operation.
- Maintain, inspect, and repair equipment monitoring and safety systems.
- Modify or adapt existing equipment and fixtures to meet evolving lab test requirements.
- Prepare technical documentation, reports, and work summaries.
- Read and interpret schematics, specifications, engineering drawings, and construction documents.
- Install new equipment and support configuration, bring-up, and validation activities.
Education and/or Experience:
- AA degree or equivalent, experience in Silicon photonics field would suffice, or the ability to learn
- Formal training in electronics, or 1-2 years of experience working in electronics testing or Silicon Photonics
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Knowledge of test equipment or familiarity with silicon photonics is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical wiring.
- Knowledge of current developments in testing equipment.
- Skill in the use of the hand tools, power tools, and machine shop tools required in servicing electrical and electronic equipment.
- Ability to disassemble and repair electrical and electronic equipment.
- Ability to install equipment.
- Ability to utilize standard equipment repair manuals and schematic diagrams.
Computer Skills:
- MS Office Suite
- Some database software
- Software for ATE control, Advantest or Uflex testers
- Some C or C or Jva Programming in a Linux environment.

- Examining parts through microscope for an extended period
- Some lifting of up to 30lbs
- Must be able to lift or move 5-10 lbs. frequently.
