BENEFITS COORDINATOR
Summary
Under general direction of the Benefits Manager, the Benefits Coordinator performs varied administrative and specialized tasks in support of the day-to-day administration of employee benefit programs. This role assists employees with various benefit-related issues, concerns, and service requests in accordance with established policies and regulations, while maintaining a very high degree of confidentiality and professionalism.
I. Responsibilities
- Coordinate daily benefits processing. Assist in day-to-day administration of various associate benefits programs, including group health, dental, vision, voluntary coverages, and 401(k)
- Perform a variety of administrative and complex benefit-related clerical work, including but not limited to:
- Coordinating benefits onboarding for newly hired associates
- Maintaining all active employee and COBRA enrollment records for the group
- Entering and verifying a variety of data in the ERP system
- Maintaining benefits-related forms and documents
- Processing leave level changes and verifying accuracy of weekly accruals
- Prepare and distribute written and verbal information to inform employees about benefits programs, such as insurance plans, participant changes, PTO/leave policies, wellness events, and special employer-sponsored activities
- Maintain associate benefits and ensure benefit changes are entered accurately and timely in the ERP system for payroll deduction
- Assist associates with health, dental, life, and other benefit-related questions
- Provide information to help associates understand company benefits and related incentive programs
- Prepare and maintain weekly associate reports, including new-hire and termination reports
- Assist with yearly open enrollment
- Other duties as assigned

III. Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years of experience in benefits or a related field
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business, or a related field
- Benefits-specific certification
- Experience with an ERP (enterprise resource planning) system in a construction company
