Duties
- Oversee daily shop operations during the second shift, ensuring smooth workflow and operational efficiency
- Lead, motivate, and supervise the retail butcher team, providing training and development to enhance performance
- Manage inventory control, including ordering, stocking, merchandising, and pricing of meat products to maximize sales and minimize waste
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, sanitation regulations, and company policies within the store environment
- Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to ensure high levels of satisfaction
- Conduct employee orientation, interviewing potential team members, and participate in recruiting efforts to build a strong workforce
- Manage cash handling procedures, POS transactions
- Implement marketing strategies and promotional activities to boost sales and increase store visibility
- Maintain organized stockrooms and retail spaces through effective merchandising and stocking practices
- Utilize management skills to oversee shift schedules, monitor sales performance, and optimize operational workflows
Requirements
- Proven management experience in retail environments with supervising responsibilities; experience in grocery or grocery-related stores is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, purchasing processes, and retail math principles
- Demonstrated skills in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing, recruiting, training & development, and leadership
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures, cashiering systems, budgeting, and operational management practices
- Experience in merchandising, stock control, pricing strategies, marketing initiatives, and retail sales management
- Ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail
- Previous assistant manager or shift management experience preferred; retail industry sales team management experience is advantageous
