What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Assistant position at Isaiah House Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY:
A dedicated individual with the capability to work in a fast-paced environment, great interpersonal skills and able to communicate with vendors. Having business knowledge of working in an office setting. A person who will is a good steward of the Isaiah House ministry. Upholding to the policies and procedures of Isaiah House and holding themselves in a professional manner.
JOB SPECIFIC FUNCTIONS:
- Communicate with direct supervisor about scheduling
- Follow the guidelines for all company feeds and policies in place.
- Search pricing to be submitted on Purchase Orders
- Notify staff member of approvals or updated details of ordering/shipping
- Attach all proper receipts, papers, information to Purchase Orders and follow process for data entry on all levels before filing
- Communicate with Inventory Clerk to ensure that inventory is stocked and always maintained depending on seasonal needs. Items low in stock will need a Purchase Order submitted.
- Keep work area clean and safe at all times to prevent accidents.
Requirements
- Accounting ie. Purchase Orders, Invoices, Receipts and Data Entry
- Proficiency in Microsoft word/excel
- Record Keeping ie. Make organizational charts and keep updated records, supply control
- Attention to detail
- Communication
- Personnel skills ie. Able to communicate with vendors, clients, team members in a professional mannerism
- Research skills ie. Being able to shop for the best prices factoring in quality vs. quantity and able to produce several comparisons
