Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately estimating project costs and preparing detailed proposals for construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction management, project management, and the ability to negotiate contracts effectively. The Construction Estimator will play a crucial role in ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget while maintaining high-quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects based on drawings, specifications, and site conditions.
• Analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to gather necessary information for accurate estimates.
• Utilize Microsoft Excel for creating proposals.
• Conduct site visits to assess conditions and gather data necessary for accurate pricing.
• Maintain organized records of all estimates, proposals, and contracts for future reference.
• Stay updated on industry trends, materials, and techniques to provide the most accurate estimates possible.

Skills

• This is an in-person job. You will be making phone calls, meeting face-to-face with customers while also communicating through email and text.
• A college degree is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is highly desirable.
• Strong knowledge of construction estimating principles and practices.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work independently.
• Strong negotiation skills to effectively communicate with contractors and suppliers.
• Must have strong communication skills both written and verbal.
• Ability to read and interpret construction documents, including contracts, blueprints, and specifications.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills to ensure accuracy in estimates.
• Effective communication skills to collaborate with team members and stakeholders throughout the estimating process.
