Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education preferred
- Bilingual Preferred
- Arizona Teaching Certificate / 3 years teaching experience
- Reading Specialist Endorsement
- Knowledge of community resources
- Good communication skills (oral and written)
- Ell Strategies /Reading background preferred
Responsibilities
- Plan leadership in the development of a successful Reading intervention plan and work with administrators and staff in delivering research-based intervention programs.
- Provides leadership in the development and alignment of K-3 Reading intervention and curriculum.
- Provides leadership in the organization of Reading First intervention staff development opportunities.
- Evaluates the use of K-3 Reading Intervention programs and coordinates with the district.
- Work with students at the K-3 level whose DIBELS assessment data places them in the "at risk" level of "intensive".
- Responsible for completing bi-weekly progress monitoring.
- Use DIBELS data to plan and provide intervention lessons through both a push in and out model, with flexible groupings to accommodate like needs.
- Maintain accurate records of individual student progress
- Utilize strategies and techniques that are based in scientific research.
- Collaborate with school site personnel to ensure program goals are met.
- Use supplemental, intervention, and/or core reading program materials that meet the requirements for SBRR.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities assigned by the Associate Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
SALARY: Certified Teacher Salary Schedule
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT: 9 mos. 185 Days
