TITLE: Childcare Provider
CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES: To provide care for children (newborn to 8 years old) while parents are attending class.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES: (essential functions)
- Plans activities for children of various ages.
- Engages and leads children in activities.
- Greets parents and discusses childcare needs.
- Assists with setup and cleanup of room.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
Knowledge of general safety rules and techniques.
Knowledge of physical needs of newborns and young children.
Knowledge of various activities for young children.
Skill in providing activities and general care for young children.
Skill in communicating verbally in English and Spanish.
Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with others.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One (1) year childcare experience preferred, at least 18 years of age. High School diploma preferred. Bilingual preferred.
