Job Summary:
The Resident Educator is a versatile, certificated K-8 teaching position designed to serve as a permanent, integral member of the school community. Tasked with ensuring instructional continuity, each site is assigned two dedicated professionals to fill immediate vacancies. The Resident Educator provides a seamless transition for students during teacher absences and functions as an agile school and district asset. On days when the assigned site is fully staffed, the Resident Educator supports neighboring schools as directed by the Human Resources Department to maintain high standards of learning district-wide.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Instructional Continuity: Executes lesson plans with the same rigor and professional expectations as the permanent classroom teacher.
- Adaptive Placement: Transitions daily between various K-8 grade levels and subjects while maintaining a positive, productive learning environment.
- Long-Term Support: Serves in long-term vacancies when necessary, assuming full classroom responsibilities including grading, parent communication, and lesson planning.
- Site Versatility: Deploys to other district locations to fill critical needs on days when the primary site is fully staffed.
- Professional Integration: Participates in staff meetings, professional development, and campus duties (e.g., recess, lunch) alongside faculty peers.
- This position offers the variety of teaching different grade levels with the stability and community of a specific home site. The Resident Educator is held to the same professional standards as contract teachers and functions as an equal partner in student success.
- This position follows the standard teacher work calendar and adheres to all professional expectations, evaluations, and ethical standards of the District.
Qualifications & Requirements
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university
- Certification: Valid Arizona Department of Education (ADE) K-8 Teaching Certificate.
- Highly Qualified Status: Must meet all state requirements for a highly qualified educator.
- Expertise: Deep understanding of K-8 curriculum standards and effective classroom management strategies.
- Professionalism: Demonstrates extreme flexibility, a collaborative professional approach, and the ability to build immediate rapport with students.
- Fingerprint Clearance: Valid IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

Salary Range: Certified Teacher Salary Schedule
