Network Engineer (Telecom/VOICE)

he Network Engineer (Telecom) is responsible for designing, implementing, maintaining, and supporting Cisco collaboration and unified communications solutions that enable effective voice, video, messaging, and conferencing capabilities across the enterprise. This role provides engineering support for telephony and video services, handles escalated support issues, programs and deploys telephony endpoints, and ensures the performance, reliability, and security of collaboration infrastructure.

The successful candidate will work across Cisco collaboration technologies including Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, Cisco Unified Contact Center Express (UCCX), Cisco Webex, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco Expressway, and Microsoft Teams Calling solutions. The engineer will partner with cross-functional IT teams to deliver scalable communication platforms and continuously improve collaboration services.Responsibilities:

• Design Cisco collaboration solutions based on business requirements, including CUCM, Unity Connection, UCCX, Cisco Webex, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco Expressway, and Microsoft Teams Calling.
• Implement and configure Cisco collaboration solutions following industry best practices and established standards.
• Deploy collaboration hardware and software, integrate systems with existing environments, and conduct testing to validate functionality and performance.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting, analysis, and support for voice, video, messaging, and conferencing technologies.
• Support trouble ticket escalations and resolve routine to moderately complex technical issues affecting collaboration services.
• Program, deploy, and maintain telephony endpoints and associated infrastructure.
• Monitor system performance, capacity, utilization, and availability to ensure optimal operation and scalability.
• Implement and maintain security controls to protect collaboration platforms from threats, vulnerabilities, and unauthorized access.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, configuration standards, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
• Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to junior engineers and support staff.
• Work with Cisco and other technology vendors to evaluate updates, patches, enhancements, and support escalations.
• Collaborate with network, security, and application teams to ensure seamless integration of collaboration solutions.
• Stay informed on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices to drive continuous improvement initiatives. Qualifications:Required Qualifications
• Associate's degree in Information Technology, Networking, Telecommunications, or a related field.
  • Additional years of relevant experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis.
• 3 years of experience supporting voice, telecom, or unified communications environments.
• Proven experience designing, implementing, and supporting Cisco collaboration solutions within enterprise environments.
• Strong knowledge of Cisco Unified Communications Manager (CUCM), Unity Connection, UCCX, Cisco Webex, Cisco Meeting Server (CMS), Cisco Expressway, and related collaboration technologies.
• Understanding of Microsoft Teams Calling and hybrid collaboration environments.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, SIP, H.323, VoIP protocols, QoS, and related technologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to effectively engage technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) Collaboration certification or equivalent experience.
• Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) Collaboration certification or equivalent experience.
• Experience with scripting and automation tools such as Python and Ansible.
• Experience with Cisco Webex Calling cloud solutions.
• Experience with Oracle ACME 3950 Session Border Controllers (Clients).
