OPERATIONS TRAINER JOB DESCRIPTION
REPORTS TO: Custodial Services and Facilities Rental Manager
WAGE/HOUR STATUS: Nonexempt
FUNDING SOURCE : General Fund
PAY GRADE : Facilities-8 (261 Days)

Primary Purpose: Plan, develop, and execute a standardized custodial training program that covers all aspects of safety, cleanliness, efficiency, scheduling, and equipment use in custodial operations. Observe and ensure staff adhere to quality standards and best practices in custodial services.
Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
- Valid Class C Texas driver’s license and proof of insurability with District insurance carrier
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Strong organizational, communication (verbal and written), and interpersonal skills
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and coordinate personnel to accomplish tasks
- Broad knowledge of school housekeeping
- Ability to operate and train in heavy cleaning equipment and the proper use of cleaning supplies
- Knowledge of work order and inventory software, timekeeping system, and office software
- Ability to speak, read, and write English
- Bilingual in Spanish, preferred
- Ability to utilize technology resources relevant to the position
Experience: Minimum three years of supervisory and training experience with custodial staff, preferably in an educational environment

Safety
- Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform duties, including lifting, and climbing. Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures. Correct unsafe conditions in the work area and promptly report any conditions that are not immediately correctable to the supervisor.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Assist in supervising and evaluating the performance of Custodians, Custodian Night Leads, and Custodian Building Managers.
Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors:
Tools/Equipment Used: Computer and peripherals, office equipment; hand tools; buffer, stripper, wet/dry vacuum cleaner, shampooer, extractor, cleaning chemicals; carpentry, plumbing and electrical tools
Posture: Frequent sitting, standing, kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, twisting
Motion: Frequent walking, climbing stairs/ladder, grasping/squeezing, wrist flexion/extension, use of computer mouse, overhead reaching, driving
Lifting: Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds without assistance, 30-55 pounds with assistance, and more than 55 pounds with appropriate assistance, on a daily basis
Visual: Use of depth perception; distinguish basic colors
Environment: Work outside and inside, on slippery or uneven walking surfaces; on rooftops; frequent exposure to hot and cold temperatures and humid conditions, electrical hazards, dust, toxic chemicals and materials, noise and vibration; work around moving objects and vehicles, ladders, scaffolding, pallet jacks, and lift equipment; occasional irregular and/or prolonged hours; frequent driving; frequent districtwide travel
