The Lighting and Irrigation Technician will collaborate with landscaping teams and clients to enhance outdoor spaces through reliable and visually appealing lighting and irrigation solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain landscape lighting systems for residential, commercial, and public spaces.
- Install, maintain, and repair irrigation systems, including sprinklers, drip systems, and controllers, while ensuring proper water distribution and conservation practices.
- Conduct thorough site assessments to determine optimal placement of irrigation components, considering factors such as terrain, plant types, and client preferences.
- Perform regular inspections and maintenance of existing systems to identify and address issues promptly, such as broken lines, leaks, or faulty wiring.
- Calibrate irrigation controllers and timers to optimize watering schedules based on weather conditions and plant requirements.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems related to electrical components, wiring, timers, valves, and pumps, and implement effective solutions.
- Keep accurate records of work performed, materials used, and maintenance schedules.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in lighting and irrigation systems.
- Provide exceptional customer service by effectively communicating with clients, addressing their concerns, and ensuring their satisfaction with the installed systems.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in electrical systems, irrigation technology, or a related field is preferred.
- Proven experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing lighting and irrigation systems.
- Strong understanding of electrical principles, wiring, and low-voltage systems.
- Knowledge of irrigation components, water pressure regulation, and water conservation practices.
- Proficiency in using tools and equipment related to lighting and irrigation work.
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with clients and team members.
- Physical stamina to work outdoors in various weather conditions and lift heavy equipment as needed.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
