An assembler is a skilled tradesperson responsible for the fabrication, assembly, maintenance and repair of oil and gas equipment and structures. Working from engineering drawings, weld procedure specifications and fabrication schematics. Assemblers build pressure vessels, process piping systems, structural steel skids and related oilfield equipment that meet ASME,API and customer quality standard.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Positions, aligns and fits up component parts, sub-assemblies, nozzles, flanges and structural members manually or with hoists and lifting equipment.
- Uses hand tools, power tools and shop machinery to cut, grind, fit and assemble parts to specified tolerances.
- Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit and securely fastening parts and sub-assemblies
- Verifies dimensions and specifications by measuring completed components with calibrated measuring instruments
- Uses squares, levels, tape measures and layout tools to ensure dimensional accuracy of structural assemblies
- Assembles structural steel skid bases, pipe racks, equipment supports, platforms, handrails and ladders for oilfield production
- Inspect cut materials for accuracy, squareness and surface condition
- Cleans and maintains work areas, tools and equipment at the end of each shift, maintains a safe, organized shop environment
- Comply with all safety policies, codes and regulations to protect the safety and health of all employees.

Required Skills
- Must be able to read measurements and perform basic math for measurements and tolerances
- Ability to stand, walk, kneel and perform physically demanding and repetitive tasks for extended periods in a manufacturing environment

- Must have effective communication skills

- Must be able to life 75 lbs and hand physical demanding work
- Must be adaptable to changing field conditions and operational demands
- Must pass a Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol screening, participate in the random testing pool and remain drug & alcohol free throughout employment
- Must pass a motor vehicle record check and background check

Work Environment
This job operates within an IronWorks, Inc facility during normal or extended business hours. This job may require physical exertion, exposure to dust, noise and potential hazards associated within a manufacturing site.
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. This position regularly requires long hours, after hours and weekend work as job duties demand.

Education & Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Experience operating forklift/skid steer preferred.
