We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our healthcare team. Duties
- Assist healthcare professionals in providing high-quality patient care across various specialties, including dermatology, internal medicine, and urgent care.
- Perform intake procedures, including taking vital signs, documenting patient histories, and preparing patients for examinations.
- Administer medications and assist with diagnostic tests such as X-rays while ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
- Maintain accurate electronic health records (EHR) by entering patient information and updating medical histories in accordance with established guidelines.
- Support the administrative functions of the clinic or hospital by managing appointment scheduling, patient inquiries, and insurance verification processes.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to facilitate effective communication regarding patient care plans and treatment options.
- Uphold knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and ICD coding to ensure accurate documentation and billing practices.
- Foster a welcoming environment for patients by providing excellent customer service and addressing their needs promptly.
Skills
- Proficient in medical administrative support tasks within both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Strong understanding of basic life support techniques and emergency medicine protocols.
- Experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems to enhance documentation accuracy and efficiency.
- Knowledge of geriatrics, pediatrics intensive care unit (PICU), operating room (OR) procedures, and medical-surgical practices is advantageous.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Ability to multitask effectively in fast-paced environments while maintaining attention to detail.
