Job Title: Flex/Per Diem Armed Security Officer
Location: Manhattan, NY
Pay Rate: $35-38/hour
Schedule: Per diem / as-needed with potential for permanent placement
Position Overview:
Iron Rock Security is seeking experienced, professional Armed Security Guards to support religious institutions in Manhattan. This per diem role is ideal for law enforcement professionals looking for supplemental work, with opportunities to transition into a permanent position based on performance, reliability, and operational needs.
Guards will be responsible for maintaining a visible, reassuring presence while ensuring the safety of congregants, staff, and visitors during services, events, and daily operations.
Responsibilities:
Provide armed security coverage at designated religious institutions
Maintain a strong, professional presence and situational awareness
Control access points and monitor entry/exit activity
Respond quickly and appropriately to incidents or emergencies
Coordinate with site leadership and local law enforcement when needed
Complete incident reports and daily activity logs
Follow all company, client, and local regulations regarding armed security
Requirements:
Active or prior law enforcement experience (required)
Valid unrestricted concealed carry permit (required)
NYS Armed Guard license and current certifications (or ability to obtain immediately)
Excellent judgment, communication, and de-escalation skills
Professional demeanor and reliability
Ability to stand for extended periods and work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
Preferred:
Experience working with houses of worship or community institutions
Availability for recurring weekly shifts
