Job Title: Heavy Equipment Field Technician

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Heavy Equipment Field Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and experience in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing heavy equipment such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, and loaders. This is a field-based role where you will travel to job sites to perform maintenance and repair services on heavy equipment. As a Heavy Equipment Field Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring equipment operates efficiently, meets all safety standards, and is in compliance with state and federal regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform diagnostic tests and repairs on heavy equipment including hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance and repair work on heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions, identifying the root cause of the issue and recommending appropriate repairs.
  • Use computerized diagnostic equipment and software to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance records, documenting all repairs and services performed.
  • Operate and maintain a service truck equipped with tools, equipment, and parts needed to perform on-site repairs.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, providing updates on equipment status, repair progress, and estimated completion times.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and ensure all work is performed in accordance with company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, including service vehicle, tools, and equipment.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical degree or certification in heavy equipment maintenance preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in heavy equipment maintenance and repair.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience with hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
  • Knowledge of diesel engines and related systems, including fuel injection systems, turbochargers, and exhaust aftertreatment systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret equipment schematics, manuals, and technical documents.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record and the ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Ability to work independently in a field-based environment, managing your own schedule and prioritizing workload.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with customers and team members.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as needed.

Physical Demands: The Heavy Equipment Field Technician position requires the ability to perform physical tasks, including but not limited to:

  • Lifting and carrying heavy equipment and tools, up to 75 pounds.
  • Climbing, bending, and kneeling in tight spaces to access equipment.
  • Working in outdoor environments in various weather conditions.
  • Operating heavy equipment and machinery.
  • Standing for extended periods of time.

This is a full-time position with a competitive salary and benefits package, including health insurance, 401(k), and paid time off. Pay: $30.00 - $45.00 per hour
