About the Role
As a Tree Climber, you’ll play an essential role in supporting our tree care operations. Working closely with groundsmen and crew leaders, you’ll help ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality work at every job site. This is a hands-on, outdoor position offering opportunities for professional development, certifications, and advancement within the arboricultural field.
Responsibilities
- Perform safe and proper tree care services for clients under supervision.
- Utilize and maintain proficiency in proper pruning techniques.
- Be knowledgeable of climbing techniques, hardware, and the various systems to effectively perform tree work aloft.
- Be capable of safely rigging trees during removal and pruning operations.
- Experience safely operating boom trucks.
- Participate in safe job setups, including placement of cones, signage, and work zone barriers.
- Operate and maintain equipment such as chainsaws, chippers, and backpack blowers safely and effectively.
- Inspect, clean, and report maintenance needs for tools and vehicles daily.
- Maintain proficiency with ropes, rigging, and other arboricultural equipment.
- Keep the job site organized and ensure it is fully cleaned before completion.
- Work collaboratively as part of a team, assisting other crew members as needed.
- Maintain a professional image and serve as an ambassador of Ironleaf Arbor Care to clients and the public.
- Communicate clearly and respectfully with team members, clients, and pedestrians around worksites.
Required Skills
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- ISA Certified Arborist/Tree Climber is desired.
- Clean driver’s license is desired.
- CDL or ability to attain is desired.
- 2 years experience in a tree care role.
- Prior tree climbing experience is required.
- Excellent situational awareness skills.
- Ability to perform job while keeping safety a top priority.
