What are the responsibilities and job description for the Financial Advisor position at Ironhorse Wealth Management?
Company Overview
Ironhorse Investments & Estate Planning is a multi-generational, family-owned private wealth management firm. We bring investments, tax planning, retirement income planning, insurance, and estate planning together under one roof, giving our clients a coordinated approach to their entire financial picture.
We work with high-earning professionals, successful families, and retirees across Oklahoma, Minnesota, and nationwide. We also have particular experience helping families navigate major life transitions, including significant legal settlements, retirement, and the transfer of wealth between generations.
Our goal is to make complex financial decisions easier by bringing the different pieces of our clients’ financial lives together into one comprehensive plan.
Job Overview
We're looking for a licensed Financial Advisor to join our team and work alongside two experienced advisors. You'll build and manage client relationships, deliver comprehensive financial plans, and draw on our attorney and CPA to give clients answers you couldn't provide on your own.
An existing book of business is a strong plus, but not required. If you're licensed, client-focused, and motivated to grow, we'll help you develop your practice through mentorship, shared client work, and a steady flow of planning opportunities.
What You'll Do
- Lead discovery meetings and build long-term relationships with individuals and families
- Develop comprehensive financial plans covering retirement income, investments, tax strategy, insurance, and estate planning
- Implement and monitor client portfolios using the firm's model portfolios and risk-tolerance tools
- Collaborate with our in-house CPA and attorney on tax planning, charitable giving, trusts, and estate strategies
- Partner with two senior advisors on shared households and complex client situations
- Grow your client base through referrals, community involvement, and firm-supported marketing
- Maintain accurate client records and meet all compliance requirements
Requirements
- Series 7 and/or Series 66 (or Series 63 and 65) licenses, active
- Experience in a client-facing financial advisory or planning role
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain complex topics in plain language
- A genuine interest in long-term, relationship-driven client service
Preferred
- An existing book of business or client relationships you'd bring with you
- CFP® designation, or actively pursuing it
- Experience with retirement income planning, tax-aware investing, or estate planning coordination
- Familiarity with financial planning software and risk-tolerance tools (such as RightCapital/Nitrogen)
Compensation: Commensurate with experience and whether you are bringing an existing book of business. Compensation structure will be discussed during the interview process.
Why Ironhorse
- True in-house collaboration. Work directly with an attorney and CPA in the same office, no outside referrals needed
- Mentorship and growth. Develop your practice alongside two established advisors
- Book-building support. Help growing your client base whether you bring a book or not
- Family-owned culture. A personal, relationship-driven firm, not a corporate sales floor
- Meaningful work. Help families through some of the biggest financial decisions of their lives
