Duties
- Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding standards.
- Develop personalized treatment plans incorporating evidence-based practices such as cognitive behavioral therapy, trauma-focused therapy, and behavioral therapy.
- Provide individual, group, family, and child/youth therapy sessions using modalities like psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis.
- Engage in crisis management and crisis intervention to support clients experiencing acute mental health or behavioral issues.
- Document clinical notes accurately within Electronic Medical Records (EMR/EHR) systems while adhering to HIPAA regulations and clinical documentation standards.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including social workers, medical professionals, educators, and case managers to coordinate comprehensive patient care.
- Offer specialized counseling for conditions such as PTSD, addiction, grief, developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorders, and gender issues counseling.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in social work, psychology, counseling or related field; licensure or certification as required by state law for practicing counselors.
- Proven experience working in outpatient or inpatient settings.
- Strong knowledge of psychotherapeutic techniques including motivational interviewing, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma-focused approaches.
- Experience working with co-occurring disorders
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10), CPT coding for billing purposes, and clinical documentation standards.
- Proficiency in telehealth platforms and experience delivering telehealth therapy sessions preferred.
- Ability to handle crisis situations effectively while demonstrating excellent communication skills and cultural competence.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions and familiarity with HIPAA compliance protocols.
