Ironcore Construction is growing—and we’re looking for an experienced Director of Finance & Project Controls to lead the financial operations and project controls of our expanding construction platform.

This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who understands that construction finance goes far beyond accounting. You’ll oversee the financial health of multiple projects, strengthen controls and reporting, drive accountability, and partner directly with project and executive leadership to support better business decisions.

As Director of Finance & Project Controls, you’ll lead accounting, financial reporting, project accounting, budgeting, financial controls, and construction funding activities across multiple projects.

You’ll serve as a key financial partner to Project Managers, Operations, Corporate, and executive leadership while ensuring Ironcore has the systems, controls, reporting, and financial visibility needed to scale successfully.

WHAT YOU’LL OWN
  • Lead accounting, project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and month-end close.
  • Serve as Ironcore’s financial Procore subject matter expert and primary administrator.
  • Oversee project budgets, commitments, contracts, change orders, forecasts, and job-cost reporting.
  • Monitor project profitability, budget-to-actual performance, cash flow, variances, and financial risks.
  • Review subcontractor billings, pay applications, retainage, lien waivers, and financial compliance.
  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reporting.
  • Maintain strong GAAP-compliant controls, accounting policies, and financial procedures.
  • Coordinate construction loan draws, lender requirements, funding documentation, and developer responses.
  • Monitor project liquidity, cash requirements, working capital, and overall financial performance.
  • Partner with Project Managers and Operations to strengthen project-level financial accountability.
  • Provide Corporate and executive leadership with clear reporting on profitability, working capital, risks, and financial results.
  • Drive improvements to financial systems, processes, controls, reporting, and scalability.
WHAT YOU BRING
  • 10 years of progressive accounting and finance experience, including significant construction accounting experience.
  • 5 years in a Controller, Director of Finance, or similar financial leadership role.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
  • Advanced expertise in Procore, including budgeting, cost management, commitments, change orders, and financial reporting.
  • Strong experience with Yardi and integrated accounting systems.
  • Deep knowledge of construction accounting, job costing, percentage-of-completion accounting, and project financial controls.
  • Experience overseeing multiple concurrent construction projects and complex funding structures.
  • Strong understanding of construction lending, draws, cash flow, and working-capital requirements.
  • Exceptional analytical, organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Affordable housing, LIHTC, public financing, and construction lending experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, strengthen controls, and implement financial systems at scale.
COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

Ironcore offers a competitive executive compensation and benefits package designed to reward performance and support our employees.

Base Salary
$200,000 annually

Annual Bonus Opportunity
Eligible for an annual performance-based bonus based on individual and Company performance.

Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision benefits are available to eligible full-time employees, effective the first of the month following 30 days of employment.

401(k) Company Match
Employees become eligible after three months of continuous employment. Ironcore currently matches 100% of the first 3% contributed and 50% of the next 2%.

3 Weeks of Paid Time Off
Employees accrue 120 hours (3 weeks) of PTO annually, increasing to 160 hours (4 weeks) after five years of continuous employment.

Paid Sick Leave
Paid sick leave is provided in accordance with California law and Company policy.

Employer-Paid Insurance
Eligible full-time employees receive Company-paid long-term disability coverage providing 60% income replacement and $10,000 in basic life insurance, subject to applicable plan terms.
