The Manager, Rental Operations & ERP Systems owns the operational execution, ERP optimization, process standardization, and branch systems support functions across IRONCLAD, Powered by Mersino. This role serves as the operational bridge between field execution, ERP systems, operational controls, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

 

This is a hands-on working manager role responsible for ensuring RentalMan and supporting operational systems effectively support branch operations, fleet management, purchasing workflows, and operational execution across the organization. 

 

The role focuses on operational consistency, ERP utilization, data integrity, workflow optimization, branch support, and scalable operational process improvement. This individual helps translate leadership direction into practical operational workflows, system configurations, and measurable execution standards at the branch level. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

Rental Operations & ERP Execution – 35% 

  • Own day-to-day operational process execution and ERP support activities across branch operations. 

  • Serve as the subject matter expert for RentalMan Operations, Maintenance, Purchasing, and related workflows. 

  • Support hands-on system configuration, troubleshooting, workflow optimization, and operational process improvements within RentalMan. 

  • Ensure branch operational workflows align with company standards, operational controls, and execution expectations. 

  • Drive consistency and discipline across operational system usage and branch execution practices. 

  • Support operational harmonization and standardization efforts across Legacy Ironclad and Legacy Mersino operations. 

 

Operational Process Improvement & Branch Support – 25% 

  • Partner with Operations leadership to improve branch execution, operational workflows, and process consistency. 

  • Identify operational inefficiencies, workflow gaps, and opportunities for process improvement. 

  • Develop and implement practical operational solutions that improve branch execution, customer service, and operational efficiency. 

  • Participate in branch visits, operational reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives. 

  • Support operational readiness during integrations, acquisitions, and growth initiatives. 

  • Reinforce accountability around operational standards, ERP utilization, and branch process compliance. 

 

ERP Systems Optimization & Data Integrity – 15% 

  • Monitor ERP utilization, reporting accuracy, and branch-level data quality. 

  • Ensure operational data integrity across rental, maintenance, purchasing, fleet, and procurement workflows. 

  • Partner with IT and business leaders on ERP enhancements, integrations, testing, and system improvements. 

  • Support development of operational dashboards, reporting tools, and business visibility metrics. 

  • Help establish scalable operational systems and reporting structures that support decision-making and accountability. 

  • Support integration of operational and financial workflows across systems and departments. 

 

Training, User Support & Change Management – 15% 

  • Train and support branch personnel on RentalMan workflows, operational processes, and system best practices. 

  • Develop SOPs, training materials, operational guides, and workflow documentation. 

  • Support rollout and adoption of operational process changes, ERP enhancements, and standardized workflows. 

  • Serve as escalation resource for operational and ERP-related issues. 

  • Help bridge communication and alignment between field operations, IT, finance, procurement, and leadership teams. 

 

Cross-Functional Coordination & Operational Alignment – 10% 

  • Partner with Operations, Fleet, Procurement, Finance, and IT teams to improve cross-functional execution and alignment. 

  • Support operational governance, reporting discipline, and branch performance initiatives. 

  • Assist with process harmonization and operational integration initiatives across the organization. 

  • Support operational scalability, consistency, and execution discipline across all branches and regions. 

 

Measures of Performance 

  • Improved branch operational consistency and execution 

  • Increased RentalMan adoption and effective utilization 

  • Improved operational data integrity and reporting accuracy 

  • Reduction in workflow inefficiencies and process variation 

  • Faster resolution of operational and ERP-related issues 

  • Improved operational visibility and accountability 

  • Successful support of integration and harmonization initiatives 

  • Improved coordination between Operations, Finance, Fleet, Procurement, and IT 

 

Key Competencies, Knowledge, and Skills 

  • Strong understanding of equipment rental, industrial services, or multi-branch operational environments 

  • Deep operational knowledge of rental workflows, fleet operations, purchasing, and branch execution 

  • Strong hands-on knowledge of RentalMan Operations, Maintenance, and Purchasing modules 

  • Strong operational process improvement and systems-thinking mindset 

  • Ability to connect ERP systems to real-world operational execution 

  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills 

  • Experience with operational reporting, dashboards, and data analysis 

  • Ability to influence field operations and drive accountability without direct authority 

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills across field and corporate teams 

  • Highly organized with strong execution discipline and attention to detail 

Qualifications:

Qualifications 

  • Minimum 6–10 years of experience in equipment rental, industrial services, specialty rental, or operationally intensive environments 

  • Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on RentalMan experience required 

  • Experience supporting ERP systems, operational workflows, and branch operations 

  • Experience leading projects, process improvements, or operational initiatives while remaining hands-on 

  • Experience with operational reporting tools, ERP integrations, or business intelligence platforms preferred 

  • Familiarity with: 

  • NetSuite  

  • Tipalti  

  • Informer  

  • Sigma  

  • Snowflake  

  • Power BI 
    preferred 

  • Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement experience preferred 
    Bachelor’s degree preferred in:  

  • Business  

  • Operations Management  

  • Information Systems  

  • Related field or equivalent operational experience  

 

Additional Information 

This position requires occasional travel to branch locations, operational reviews, company meetings, and training workshops.
