We are seeking a highly skilled Workplace Safety Specialist to join our team, focused on bridging the gap between hospital nursing staff and security personnel. This role involves training both teams to work together seamlessly in high-stress situations, ensuring the safety of patients, staff, and visitors. Utilizing our Response Control Techniques and Staff Response Training programs.
Responsibilities:
· Deliver specialized training programs to hospital nurses and security teams to foster collaboration and communication.
· Teach evidence-based de-escalation and disengagement techniques for managing patients in crisis.
· Instruct nursing staff on how to safely disengage and exit when a patient becomes combative or attempts to leave care.
· Provide security personnel with safe, patient-centered methods to return individuals safely to a calm state, while minimizing risk of injury.
· Demonstrate and oversee scenario-based drills that replicate real hospital situations, focusing on teamwork and safety protocols.
· Promote a culture of safety and mutual respect between clinical and security departments.
· Assess training outcomes and adjust instruction to meet facility-specific needs.
Qualifications:
· Strong Public Speaking
· Background in workplace violence prevention, crisis intervention, or hospital safety.
· Experience training healthcare and/or security professionals in high-stress environments.
· Strong communication skills and ability to mediate between diverse professional roles.
· Knowledge of hospital protocols, patient rights, and trauma-informed care principles.
· Certification in de-escalation or crisis response (preferred).
· Self defense background a plus- Salary commensurate with experience.
