Job Description
- Engineering technician with 3 years of experience in electrical and mechanical assembly and troubleshooting in a prototype or manufacturing environment.
- Perform assembly, bring up, and troubleshooting of opto/mechanical/electronic prototype test systems
- Mechanical assembly testing using calibrated measurement tools
- Electrical assembly and testing using specialized equipment
- Maintain an organized lab to include part inventory, consumables, tools and 5S
- Prioritize and balance multiple tasks to complete a given statement of work
- Reach out to responsible design engineers for troubleshooting, clarification, and feedback
- Adapt to a daily changing statement of work
- Assist the wider organization with assembly work
- Familiar with CAD systems (NX, SolidWorks)
- Experience with bills of materials and assembly instructions
- Experience with basic hand tools
- Hand soldering skills
- Experience troubleshooting small electronic equipment
- Familiarity with electronic analysis tools to include Multi Meters, Oscilloscopes,
- Power Supplies Ability to read electrical diagrams
- Willingness to propose and implement process improvements to increase production efficiency
- Communicate with the supervisor any customer issues or potential problems
- Work effectively with a diverse cross-functional team
- Great customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills to deal with various levels of personnel
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for documenting
- Associate’s degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or 3 years of relevant experience
- Troubleshooting experience for smaller electronics devices
- Familiarity with electronic testing using software tools (testing scripts using Python or C )
- Experience in an assembly environment for consumer electronic devices
- Experience with prototyping and flexible processes
