Associate Attorney – Criminal, Traffic & General Practice
Full-Time | In-Office | Salem, Arkansas
We are a small but growing general practice law firm based in Salem, Arkansas, seeking to add a motivated, Arkansas-licensed associate attorney to join our team full time in our Salem office. This is a hands-on role for an attorney who wants real courtroom experience, daily collaboration with support staff, and exposure to a wide range of practice areas.
Position Overview
- Primary Focus: Traffic court and criminal defense
- Additional Exposure: Civil litigation, breach of contract, negligence, employment law, and family law
- Office Requirement: Full-time, in-office in Salem, Arkansas
- Remote Work: Limited to Fridays only when no court appearances are scheduled
This role begins with taking consults, a significant volume of traffic and criminal matters and expands into broader general-practice work, including serving as second chair on high-value civil cases.
Responsibilities
- Handle traffic court appearances and traffic defense matters
- Manage criminal defense cases, including misdemeanors and DWIs
- Appear in courts throughout Arkansas as required
- Serve as second chair on complex civil cases
- Assist with firm matters as they arise, including motions, hearings, and client issues
- Communicate professionally with clients, staff, and opposing counsel
Qualifications
- Active Arkansas law license (required)
- Comfortable with frequent court appearances
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with attorneys and support staff in an in-office environment
- Commitment to ethical practice under the Arkansas Rules of Professional Conduct
Compensation & Benefits
- Starting salary: $70,000
- Bonuses: Performance-based, but also life changing.
