Duties
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope of work to develop comprehensive estimates
- Utilize estimating software such as HeavyBid and Bluebeam to prepare detailed bid proposals
- Conduct site visits to assess construction conditions and gather accurate data for costing
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to negotiate contracts and pricing terms
- Perform cost analysis and implement cost control measures throughout the project lifecycle
- Coordinate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive bids and ensure accurate pricing
- Assist in the development of project schedules, budgets, and procurement strategies
- Monitor ongoing projects for budget adherence and provide updates on cost status
- Maintain organized records of all estimating documents, contracts, and correspondence
Qualifications
- Proven experience in construction estimating, with a strong understanding of construction management principles
- Proficiency in Bluebeam, HeavyBid, and other estimating or project management software tools
- Solid knowledge of construction site operations, safety protocols, and contract management
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure favorable terms with vendors and subcontractors
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail for accurate cost assessment
- Effective communication skills for collaborating across teams and presenting estimates clearly
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines
