Iron Oak Energy is seeking a night-shift Lead Electrician who will have a positive impact on the Operations team at its Wyeville, WI. Plant location

The Lead Electrician is responsible for leading the electrical maintenance team while ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all electrical systems throughout the facility. This position provides technical leadership, coordinates daily work assignments, troubleshoots complex electrical issues, and works closely with operations, plant management, and maintenance personnel to maximize equipment reliability, production uptime, and safety.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, assign, and coordinate daily activities of the electrical maintenance team.
  • Provide technical guidance, mentoring, and on-the-job training to electricians and maintenance personnel.
  • Plan, prioritize, and schedule electrical maintenance and repair work to minimize production downtime.
  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair electrical, instrumentation, PLC, VFD, motor control, and automation systems.
  • Install, maintain, and modify electrical equipment in accordance with applicable electrical codes and company standards.
  • Ensure all electrical work is completed safely and complies with MSHA, NFPA 70E, the National Electrical Code (NEC), and company safety procedures.
  • Perform lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and verify safe work practices.
  • Coordinate with operations and maintenance supervisors to plan outages and equipment improvements.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, equipment documentation, and electrical drawings.
  • Assist in developing preventative and predictive maintenance programs.
  • Recommend equipment upgrades and process improvements that improve reliability and reduce maintenance costs.
  • Assist with inventory management of electrical parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Support capital improvement projects from planning through commissioning.
  • Participate in emergency call-outs and respond to equipment failures as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead by example and promote a culture of safety, accountability, teamwork, and professionalism.
  • Mentor and develop electricians and maintenance personnel through coaching and hands-on training.
  • Assist with assigning daily work priorities and ensuring projects are completed efficiently.
  • Monitor work quality and ensure compliance with company policies and safety standards.
  • Communicate effectively with operations, maintenance, and management to coordinate work activities.
  • Encourage continuous improvement through proactive problem-solving and employee development.


Minimum Qualifications:

Skills & Abilities:

  • Journeyman Electrician license or equivalent industrial electrical experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of industrial electrical maintenance experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, motor controls, electrical distribution systems, instrumentation, and industrial automation.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, organizational, and CMMS skills.
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.


Physical Requirements:

  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Climb ladders, stairs, and elevated structures.
  • Work in confined spaces and at heights.
  • Frequently bend, kneel, crawl, and stand for extended periods.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Must be able to wear a respirator and other required personal protective equipment.


Working Conditions:

Industrial mining/manufacturing environment with exposure to dust, noise, vibration, moving machinery, and varying temperatures. Occasional overtime, weekends, holidays, and emergency call-outs may be required.
