We are seeking a skilled Small Engine Service Technician to join our team. Duties
- Diagnose and repair small engines, including gasoline and diesel models, utilizing schematics and technical manuals
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment such as generators, lawn mowers, and other power tools
- Use hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques to complete repairs
- Conduct electrical troubleshooting and repairs on small engines and related systems
- Assist customers with technical questions and provide professional service advice
- Perform heavy lifting of equipment and parts as needed for repairs or installations
- Maintain detailed service records for all repairs and maintenance activities
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and manufacturer specifications
Experience
- Dealership experience or service technician background is highly preferred
- Proven experience with automotive repair, equipment repair, or generator repair
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in schematics, electrical systems, and diesel engine repair
- Hands-on experience using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and soldering techniques
- Experience working with Caterpillar equipment or heavy machinery is a plus
- Customer service skills combined with sales ability to recommend appropriate solutions to clients
- Prior experience in vehicle maintenance or heavy equipment repair is advantageous
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and efficiently during repair tasks
- This role requires a motivated individual with a solid foundation in mechanical systems and excellent troubleshooting skills. Candidates should be committed to quality workmanship and continuous learning to stay current with evolving technology in small engine repair.
