Construction Operations Manager
The Construction Operations Manager plays a critical role in supporting project management teams for multifamily renovation or capital improvement projects. The ideal candidate will provide guidance, leadership, direction and overall daily administrative support for the day-to-day operations of multiple projects simultaneously.
Responsibilities:
- Supervise project managers and oversee ongoing capital projects and multifamily unit renovations while monitoring compliance with contract documents and other regulations
- Ensuring subcontractor agreements are in place prior to project start
- Ensuring all training initiatives and requirements are met
- Enforce and promote a safe jobsite per OSHA requirements and compliance with plans and specifications to mitigate risk
- Work with regional leader to create and manage project budgets and schedules throughout the life of the project
- Monitor project completion to ensure adherence with plans and specifications as well as to company and owner objectives
- Perform site visits for quality control and inspect progress of projects to ensure work is completed on time, within budget and with consistent quality
- Ensure daily adherence to project management protocols, with a focus on compliance and administrative accuracy across all active projects
- Research, compile, and submit all documentation required for permitting and regulatory approvals
- Assemble and manage project submittals for client and engineering review
- Coordination of procurement and purchasing of major materials, ensuring cost control and timely delivery
- Ensure accuracy and completion of daily and weekly project progress reports
- Help source subcontractors and vendors for project managers
- Assist in tracking and updating project schedules to reflect real-time progress and changes
- Help prepare detailed Subcontractor Scope of Work (SOW) documents
- Work closely with the Project Management team to ensure client proposals are submitted accurately and on time.
- Ensure accuracy and completion of daily and weekly project reports
- Ensure change orders are processed and submitted in a timely manner
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or related field preferred
- 7-10 years of experience in construction coordination, project administration - multifamily or renovation experience preferred
- Strong knowledge of construction documentation, permitting processes, and project workflows
- Stellar record in the multifamily construction field
- Ability and willingness to occasionally travel long distances as necessary per project requirement
- Strong team leadership skills and ability to delegate effectively
- Comprehensive knowledge of construction codes and ordinances
- Proficiency in CRM systems, Microsoft Office Suite, and project scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, RedTeam, or similar)
- Strong work ethic with the ability to multi-task, prioritize, meet deadlines and make decisions in a fast-paced environment
- Proven project coordination skills for each stage of construction and renovation
- Strong analytical problem-solving and costing skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to confidently present to owners and clients
- Work independently with limited direct supervision
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously
- Valid drivers license
