Job Description
Properly install, advance and maintain conveyor system. Plan and manage the day-to-day belt activities, develop the workforce and provide for a safe work environment.
Major Responsibilities:
- Expected to be dressed and ready to plan and coordinate shift responsibilities one hour prior to start of your shift.
- Responsible for accurate daily payment of all employees under your charge.
- Comply with all assigned safety program elements.
- Communicate and coordinate belt activities with appropriate shift foreman.
- Responsible for detailed verbal and written communication with workforce, supervisors and cross shift foreman.
- Ensure safe work performance and development of assigned workforce
- Plan implement, and monitor belt activities on your shift to achieve continuous improvement
- Supervise the installation, repair and maintenance of the mine conveyor systems.
- Ensure that all beltmen are kept apprised of all safety and legal requirements of their jobs.
- Ensure compliance with state and federal laws and company policy.
- Ensure compliance with UMWA contract for area of responsibility.
- Monitor and maintain optimum belt inventory.
- Plan and coordinate with Shift Foreman idle-time work.
- Monitor belt availability and develop plans and remedies to meet predetermined availability goals.
Qualifications
- Proficient in all aspects of mine conveyor systems including installation and maintenance of all associated equipment.
- Knowledge of PLC’s and CST’s is preferred.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
