Job Summary
Performs a variety of duties in the Cedar City Senior Center related to leading and participating in the preparation of meals for seniors as part of provided services within Iron County. Position will work up to 20 hours per week; Days and hours are set and not flexible; You will need to be able to work on Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday between the hours of 6:30 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. (approx). Works under the direction of the Center Director.
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent and two (2) or more years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
Knowledge of nutrition, sanitation and cooking standards
Prefer work related cooking experience for large groups
Applicants must have the ability to meet and serve the public in a positive manner
Must be able to pass a pre-employment background and drug screen
Special Qualifications
Must have a valid Utah Drivers License in accordance with Iron County Vehicle Policy
Must have a valid Food Handlers Permit and obtain Serve Safe Certificate within 3 months of hire
Knowledge of all kitchen equipment, slicing, chopping, and operating ovens and stoves for cooking at high temperatures
Knowledge of nutrition, sanitation and cooking standards
Knowledge of all policies in place for the Nutrition Program
Skill in supervising and coordinating kitchen operations
