- Promote and practice efficient and safe operating procedures.
- Assist with basic building maintenance including painting, cleaning, minor repairs, and organizing supplies
- Perform routine groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, raking, watering, and debris removal
- Support equipment upkeep by cleaning tools, checking fluid levels, and reporting issues
- Help set up and take down materials for events, programs, or facility use
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, storage rooms, and common spaces
- Follow safety procedures and use protective equipment appropriately
- Complete assigned tasks efficiently and communicate progress to supervisors
- Provide general labor support as needed (lifting, moving materials, light construction tasks)
- Attends in-service, training and educational sessions as required.
- Comply and implement continuing education training as needed.
- Perform additional duties assigned by the Administrator or Plant Operations Director.
- Follow Iron County Medical Care Facility Policies and Procedures
Education & Training
- Seasonal Maintenance staff must be at least 17 years of age, or older, be of good moral character and possess a valid driver’s license.
- Currently enrolled in high school, post‑secondary education or high school diploma.
- Completed courses in trades, construction, mechanical, environmental, horticulture or landscaping, and/or facility management preferred.
- Experience using lawn mowers, trimmers, hand tools, and power tools required.
- The ability to work with residents, fellow employees and the public must be demonstrated.
Skills & Abilities
Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job. Must have the ability to read and comprehend all written instruction and documentation associated with job. Must work effectively with multifunctional team.
- Workers who are adept in the use of hand and power tools in the course of maintenance and outside groundwork are preferred.
- Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, standing for long periods, and working outdoors
- Basic knowledge of hand tools and lawn equipment (training provided)
- Strong work ethic, reliability, and willingness to learn
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team
- Good communication and problem‑solving skills
