Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Fleet Mechanic to join our maintenance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a fleet of vehicles to ensure operational efficiency and safety. This role requires a strong mechanical background, familiarity with various machinery, and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. The Fleet Mechanic will play a critical role in keeping our fleet in optimal condition, supporting our operational needs across multiple sites.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on vans.
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools.
- Repair or replace faulty components such as transmissions, brakes (including air brake systems), suspensions, shocks & struts, HVAC systems, and hydraulics and or open tickets with our fleet portal
- Conduct welding, fabrication, and assembly work as needed for equipment repairs or modifications.
- Operate power tools, hand tools, and specialized equipment safely and effectively.
- Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed.
- Assist with tire service, alignment checks, and other vehicle maintenance tasks.
- Ensure all repairs meet safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Collaborate with team members to troubleshoot issues with vans on the road.
- Perform rescues as needed, including tire changes and repairs in the field.
Experience
- Proven mechanic experience with a focus on fleet maintenance.
- Hands-on experience with automotive diagnostics, electrical systems, and vehicle maintenance is essential.
- Familiarity with schematics for electrical wiring and hydraulic systems.
- Ability to use hand tools, power tools, service tools, and specialized diagnostic equipment effectively.
- Strong mechanical knowledge combined with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Prior experience in automotive repair or as a service technician is preferred. Candidates should possess strong mechanical skills along with a commitment to safety and quality workmanship to succeed in this role.
- Body repair experience a plus.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 per week
