THE OPPORTUNITY
IT Support Technician will be responsible for direct end user technical support for the Virginia Information Technology Agency (VITA) contract by providing comprehensive IT support for end users at customer sites throughout Virginia and the surrounding areas. Installs, maintains, and repairs products such as equipment, integrated systems, and software at the client and/or field locations. Instructs customers in equipment operation, provides technical assistance, performs preventative maintenance, troubleshoots equipment for malfunctions to eliminate problem in minimum time.
HOW YOU’LL MAKE AN IMPACT
- Provide technical / IT support for Commonwealth of Virginia
- Perform routine maintenance on customer’s assets
- Provide comprehensive and timely resolution of all IT issues
- Responsible for system updates, ticketing and asset management
- Perform break/fix software & hardware support (including OEM-certified warranty repair)
- Execution of asset disposal activities
- Training on new products and services
- Support of end users that remotely access services (including shipping replacement devices, leveraging 3rd party hardware repair or other forms of onsite support)
- Resolution of issues involving business applications on and off premise (e.g. cloud)
- Provide support remotely via remote administration tools as well as onsite / desk side
- Support tasks include end user device configurations
- Imaging of Commonwealth devices
- May collaborate with vendors to provide technical insight
- Provide support for Windows 10/11 & MAC operating systems, software/application support, troubleshooting, diagnostics, repairs, system restorations, etc.
- Provide after hours and weekend support as needed
SKILLS THAT DRIVE SUCCESS
- High School plus advanced training and 2 plus years of experience
- Experience with performing system imaging and deployment of workstations, laptops, and related hardware
- Demonstrate proficiency in basic break/fix hardware troubleshooting and component replacement (RAM, HDD/SSD, batteries).
- Experience performing basic network troubleshooting
- Experience performing password resets using Active Directory
- Self-driven problem solver with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box.
- Communicates complex technical issues clearly and professionally to end users.
- Collaborative team player who brings empathy and a customer-focused mindset.
- A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass VA State Police and Department of Corrections background checks

COMPENSATION AND BENEFIT INFORMATION
The salary range for this position is $19-24/hr. This range reflects the anticipated base pay for the position and is not a guarantee of final compensation. Actual compensation will be determined based on factors including experience, skills, education, location, contract requirements, and business needs.
Iron Bow Technologies reserves the right to fill this role at a different level, depending on qualifications and organizational priorities. This range represents only one component of Iron Bow’s total compensation package. An overview of our benefits is available on our careers page.
