What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Guard - Behavioral Health - Full Time position at IRMC?
In this role you will be:
- Monitor facility grounds and interior spaces to ensure a safe and secure environment.
- Perform regular security checks, patrols, and surveillance via security systems or physical rounds.
- Respond promptly to incidents, disturbances, or emergencies involving patients, staff, or visitors.
- Assist in de-escalating volatile situations using approved crisis intervention techniques.
- Monitor and control access to the facility, ensuring only authorized individuals enter secure areas.
- Maintain accurate and detailed incident reports, logs, and shift summaries.
- Collaborate with clinical staff to support the safety needs of patients during interventions or transfers.
- Escort patients, visitors, or personnel as necessary within or outside the facility.
- Uphold confidentiality and HIPAA compliance at all times.
- Report hazards, security breaches, or maintenance issues promptly.
- Attend required safety and behavioral health training sessions, including CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) or equivalent.

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION: High school graduate required
- EXPERIENCE: Previous safety/security experience preferred
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Valid PA driver’s license
- BLS preferred
