What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Pharmacist - Casual position at IRMC?
In this role you will be:
- Review and verify physician medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and potential interactions
- Prepare and dispense medications, including IV admixtures, chemotherapy, and controlled substances
- Monitor patient medication therapies and provide clinical consultations to medical and nursing staff
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and collaborate with care teams to optimize medication use
- Educate patients and families on safe and effective medication use when appropriate
- Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians, students, and interns
- Ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations
- Maintain accurate documentation in pharmacy and patient medical records systems
- Participate in quality improvement and safety initiatives within the pharmacy department

QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
- EDUCATION: Bachelor of Science or Doctor of Pharmacy degree from a college of pharmacy accredited by the American Council on Pharmaceutical Education
- EXPERIENCE: Current valid license to practice pharmacy in Pennsylvania
- LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION: Continuing education credits to maintain active licensure as mandated by the PSBP.
