Essential Duties and Responsibilities

In this role you will be:

  • Exemplifying the IRMC mission, vision, and values, acting in accordance with IRMC policies and procedures to ensure quality care is provided.
  • Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and providing appropriate care as assigned
  • Providing direct patient care including monitoring their conditions, taking vital signs, observing, recording, and reporting behaviors under the supervision of nursing.
  • Leading patients in therapeutic and recreational activities.
  • Assist with teaching life skills.
  • Complete patient documentation.
  • Help to provide a safe and secure unit environment for all patients and staff in compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Utilizing excellent interpersonal communication skills to effectively communicate with patients, family, and report any concerning events to members of the organization.
  • Will be required to float to all units, including geri-psych, adult, and adolescent.
  • Identifying each patient’s age-specific needs and providing appropriate care as assigned
  • Responsible for patient transports to and from hospital departments (including the medical center) and for delivery of supplies to departments as necessary

 

 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • EDUCATION
    • A high school graduate or equivalent.
    • Bachelor’s Degree preferred.
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • Minimum of 1 year in behavioral health preferred.
    • Previous work experience in health care preferred.
    • Psychiatric work experience preferred.
  • LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
    • Valid PA driver’s license with no previous violation
    • BLS required or attained within 1 month of hire
