Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive grooming services including bathing, brushing, hair trimming, and pet coat styling tailored to each dog’s breed and individual needs
- Handle dogs safely and compassionately using animal restraint techniques to ensure comfort and security during grooming procedures
- Conduct pet nail trimming, ear cleaning, and other hygiene-related grooming tasks with precision and care
- Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand grooming preferences, provide updates, and offer pet care advice
- Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools are sanitized and equipment is in excellent working condition
- Assist with animal handling duties such as kennel cleaning, pet sitting, and managing animal behavior during grooming sessions
- Support veterinary or veterinary technician staff with basic animal care tasks when needed, including heavy lifting of larger animals or equipment
Experience
- Proven experience in pet grooming or animal handling roles such as veterinary assistant, veterinary technician, or kennel staff
- Knowledge of dog training techniques and canine behavior management
- Familiarity with veterinary procedures related to animal care and restraint methods
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with pet owners
- Hands-on experience with pet coat styling, nail trimming, bathing, and hygiene maintenance
- Ability to lift heavy objects safely and perform physically demanding tasks regularly
- Prior experience working with diverse animals including dogs of various sizes and breeds is highly preferred
