What are the responsibilities and job description for the In-Home Caretaker for Elderly Client position at IRIS?
Job Summary
This job opening is 20 hours per week/part time.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Caretaker to provide essential support and assistance through the IRIS program to a Type 1 diabetic male, age 65. The ideal candidate will be able to do in-home cleaning for the participant in addition to being attentive to support the client, including assisting the client with diabetes management (trained on the job).
Providing transportation to and from appointments would also benefit the client as he lives an hour away from most of his primary care providers.
Duties
- Assist with daily living activities, including meal preparation, diabetes management.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for the participant, who also lives with his disabled spouse and small pet dogs. Cleaning lists are available for guidance.
- Help the client continue to foster his independence while addressing requests the client has regarding assistance on a day-to-day basis.
Experience
- Strong interpersonal skills with a focus on empathy and patience.
- Driver's License
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $18.83 per hour
