Freelance Brand Strategy Director
Contract Duration: 4 weeks, 40 hours per week
We’re looking for a Freelance Brand Strategy Director to help shape a high-impact brand narrative for a leading ready-to-drink beverage brand (confidential). This role is for someone who thrives at the intersection of data, insight, and storytelling—able to translate research into compelling strategic platforms that unlock powerful creative.
What You’ll Do
- Lead brand strategy development from discovery through creative brief
- Synthesize quantitative and qualitative research into clear, actionable insights
- Identify cultural tensions, audience motivations, and whitespace opportunities
- Craft a compelling brand narrative and positioning that inspires creative teams
- Partner closely with creative leads to ensure strategy is expressed effectively in execution
- Build and present strategic frameworks, decks, and storytelling that resonate with senior stakeholders
- Guide messaging architecture, tone of voice, and campaign platforms
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in brand strategy, preferably at an agency or in a freelance leadership role
- Strong ability to turn complex data and research into clear, engaging stories
- Exceptional writing and presentation skills
- Experience developing positioning, insights, and creative briefs that lead to breakthrough work
- Comfort operating in fast-paced, collaborative environments with multiple stakeholders
- Strategic thinker with a sharp point of view and attention to detail
Preferred Experience
- Background in beverage, alcohol, or CPG categories—especially ready-to-drink (RTD) brands
- Experience working on confidential or high-profile pitches
