About the Role
The Director of Accounting is a senior leadership role responsible for the strategic oversight and execution of all accounting operations for IRG Ventures, LLC and its related entities. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Controller, this position serves as a key financial leader within the organization — ensuring the integrity of financial reporting, the strength of internal controls, and the efficiency of accounting operations across a complex, multi-entity environment.
You will drive process improvement, system optimization and serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on financial matters. If you’re someone who takes pride in getting the details right while keeping an eye on the bigger picture, this role was built for you.
What You’ll Do
- Drive the monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles across all entities — on time, every time
- Own financial statement accuracy, general ledger integrity, and balance sheet reconciliations
- Manage intercompany transactions and consolidations across the IRG Ventures portfolio
- Ensure ongoing GAAP compliance and alignment with internal accounting policies
- Lead the annual audit process — coordinating with the VP Controller, CFO, and external auditors
- Support tax reporting and compliance in partnership with outside tax advisors
- Strengthen internal controls and enforce accounting policies across the organization
- Optimize accounting systems and reporting tools (we use Sage Intacct) for greater efficiency and scale
- Develop and mentor accounting team reinforcing a culture of accuracy, accountability, and growth
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment of business activities
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- 7 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting roles
- Hands-on experience preparing consolidated financial statements
- Proven track record managing external audits from start to finish
- Expert-level knowledge of GAAP and multi-entity financial reporting standards
- Strong grasp of consolidations, intercompany accounting, and balance sheet management
- Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and inspire an accounting team
- Clear communicator — able to translate complex financials for any audience
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA designation
- Experience in multi-entity or complex organizational structures
- Proficiency in Sage Intacct or a comparable ERP/accounting platform
