As the Construction Manager – Electrical, you’ll oversee the delivery of sophisticated electrical systems—including redundant power infrastructure, UPS systems, and liquid-to-chip cooling integration—within advanced data center environments. You’ll collaborate closely with engineering, construction, and commissioning teams to ensure every system is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest reliability standards. - Journeyman Electrician License
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in electrical construction management, preferably in mission-critical environments such as data centers, hospitals, or similar facilities
- Proven track record of managing large-scale electrical construction projects from design through commissioning
- Strong understanding of UPS systems, generators, switchgear, PDUs, redundant A/B power distribution, and liquid cooling technologies
- Knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE, and others.
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple contractors and ensure alignment with project goals
Preferred Experience
- Master Electrican License
- Prior experience in data center construction or commissioning
- Familiarity with liquid-to-chip cooling integration and its electrical infrastructure requirements
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is a plus
Other important requirements:
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work
- Must be comfortable working a rotational schedule, which includes day and night shifts as well as weekend work, based on project needs
- Employees working night shifts will receive a 15% premium added to their hourly rate only for hours worked during night shifts
- Manage the planning, execution, and delivery of all electrical construction activities for data center projects, including power distribution, UPS systems, liquid cooling integration, and redundant electrical infrastructure.
- Review and interpret electrical design documents, single-line diagrams, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with project requirements and industry best practices.
- Interface with mechanical, civil, and IT/Network teams to ensure seamless integration of electrical systems with liquid-to-chip cooling and data center operations.
- Supervise and coordinate subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers, ensuring timely delivery and quality installation of electrical equipment.
- Oversee testing, inspection, and commissioning of electrical systems, including UPS, generators, switchgear, and redundant power paths, ensuring reliability and uptime targets are met.
- Ensure all electrical work adheres to NFPA, NEC, OSHA, and local codes, as well as internal safety and quality standards.
- Track progress, manage schedules, and control costs to ensure project milestones are achieved within budget and timeline.
- Identify and mitigate risks related to electrical infrastructure, redundancy, and system reliability.
- Provide clear updates to project leadership, clients, and stakeholders on progress, challenges, and solutions.
