Ability to read and comprehend rules and regulations and interpret vague and often changing policies and guidelines pertaining to programs; communicate with people of varied social, economic and educational backgrounds to obtain pertinent data and verify information in determining eligibility; learn the intricacies of numerous forms and procedures of the program and present information orally or in report form. Interest in and understanding of the needs, problems and attitudes of disadvantaged persons. Ability to work with pressure and stress. Ability to input data and navigate a web-based program with proficiency and speed. Good knowledge of computer usage, electronic filing of documents, scanning ability and accuracy in computer entry. Ability to navigate, input data, and problem solve within a computer program. Initiative, flexibility and ability to learn quickly in a fast paced environment are required.
Application taking and processing at Iredell Memorial Hospital and Iredell Davis Behavioral Health for all categories of assistance. Interview applicants under the provisions of Medical Assistance for Family & Children and Adult categories to determine eligibility. Gather data concerning family, health, reserves and finances. Request verification of needed information through contacts with employers, lawyers, medical facilities and Clerk of Court, financial institutions, insurance companies and with community service agencies. Compute budgets and perform other duties relative to work described. This individual will be responsible for taking and processing CAP applications assigned. This individual through the implementation of NC FAST and universal worker expectations may transition into taking and processing applications for all income support programs.MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Two years of experience as an Income Maintenance Caseworker in Adult Medicaid; prefer some knowledge in all areas of Medicaid. Knowledge of NCFAST, computer usage, electronic filing of documents, and scanning ability required.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Friday / 8:00am – 5:00pm
