Production Cell Lead

Summary of Duties
The Production Cell Lead will participate in production planning, inventory tracking and personnel management. This individual will be the expert on parts and processes for the cell’s production. They will also operate machines and do quality checks to maintain conformity. Analysis of data from the process, quality checks and part specifications are important to continuous improvement. Communicate with 1st shift leads to get priorities, the production team to meet deadlines and the management team.

Friday-Sunday 5am-5pm
Work 36 hours, get paid for 40 hours
10% shift premium

Coordinate cell efforts to meet production goals
Give direction to team based on cell needs for the day or week
Communicate expectations, assignments and responsibilities clearly and professionally
Ensure operators are working efficient and meeting expectations
Ensure production goals are being met and shipments are on time|
Work to better understand the demands, positives and negatives of the job
Manage work orders, including scheduling, verifying and closing
Problem solve a variety of issues, including scrap, process problems and employee disputes
Manage inventory levels for raw material, finished goods, work in process and supplies
Listen/relate to employees concerns and work with them
Ensure all maintenance and PMs are up to date on equipment and work with maintenance department
This is a working lead so will also do duties listed under an inspector or machine operator role.
Maintain cell production boards daily to understand production performance to plan
Work with other leads daily for assistance with production to meet customer needs
Be a role model for other employees
Effectively manage conflict within team
Complete reviews and counseling forms with employees
Empower to develop and motivate team members
Provide training to employees
Motivates team and assesses performance
Participates in hiring new employees
Ability to communicate well with others
5S, general organization of your area and general cleaning
Follow safety measures including handling chemicals safely and wearing PPE
Multi-task between various projects
Be able to work independently and be self-motivated
Follow verbal and written direction

Education, Experience or skills Required
HS Diploma or Equivalent
Basic math skills
Computer skills
Time management
Written and Verbal Communication skills
Ability to work independently
Ability to multi-task between different processes as needed
Read and understand Work Instructions
Ability to discuss topics and communicate effectively with team members

Experience, Skills and Abilities Preferred
Advanced Math
Familiar with Metric and Standard Measurements
Knowledge of basic machine operation, tools and measurement devices
Familiar with stereoscope, caliper, micrometers, gage pins and blocks
Manufacturing, mechanical and/or inspection experience
Familiarity with blueprints and reading specifications
Attention to detail
Problem solving
2 year technical or associate's degree
Supervisor Training/experience
