Job Summary
The New Product Process Technician is responsible for leading technical process development initiatives that improve manufacturing performance, quality, productivity and capacity. This position serves as the organization’s technical resource for troubleshooting complex manufacturing issues, conducting process analysis, validating improvements, and mentoring other technicians. This role also utilizes data analysis, experimentation and continuous improvement methodologies to optimize new manufacturing processes and support the successful transfer of new products and technologies into production. Success in this role is measured by successful process launches, reduced process variation, improve yields, faster cycle times and the development of robust, repeatable manufacturing methods.
1st Shift Schedule, 4, 10 hour days
Essential Functions

Process Development: Develop and validate process improvements before implementation. Conducting and documenting the process experiments and trials.
Continuous Improvement: Research new technologies, tooling, material and manufacturing methods
Data Analysis: Perform process capability studies and statistical analysis. Create charts, process documentation and technical recommendations.
Quality Control: Monitor process performance using SPC and production metrics
General Machine Operations
Collaboration with fellow technicians, operators and engineers
Documentation: Accurately enter data and track development process. Write instructions once the process is established.
Support the conversion of new product processes into commercially viable production-scale operations
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job an employee may sit, stand, stoop, crawl, or kneel for 8 to 12 hours a day. Regularly walking and navigating between areas and occasionally going up and down a short ladder or step stool. They will regularly be working around moving mechanical parts with proper guarding. The work is done in a climate controlled building. Noise levels are moderate and below OSHA thresholds. Various chemicals are used to complete the tasks at hand and proper PPE must be worn. Regular lifting up to 30 pounds, occasional lifting up to 50 pounds and participating in team lifts. Lifting from floor to shelf or carrying items short distances.
Skills/Abilities Required
Degree in Manufacturing related course or related 3-5 years of technical manufacturing experience
Experience with process improvement
Strong statistical and analytical skills
Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
Strong Communication skills, both written and verbal
The ability to read, interpret and understand engineering draws and technical specifications
Ability to influence and motivate cross-functional teams
Documentation skills
HS diploma
Mechanical ability
Strong math skills, computer and electronics skills
Time management
Attention to detail
Ability to work independently and multi-task between different processes as needed
Microsoft Office software, specifically Excel and Word
Familiar with Metric and Standard Measurements
Skills/Abilities Preferred
Knowledge in hydraulics, pneumatics, and computer related mechanics
8D and RCCA tools
LEAN production planning
DOE Experience
Six Sigma training
Root cause methodologies
Solid Works or CAD software, basic CAM knowledge.
