Position Summary:
The Human Resources Administrator is responsible for supporting and managing key HR functions within Chai Pani Restaurant Group and Spicewalla. This role ensures smooth day-to-day HR operations, including assisting with recruitment, onboarding, employee records, benefits administration, and compliance with labor laws. The HR Administrator will act as a key point of contact for staff inquiries, provide administrative support to the HR team, and contribute to the development of a positive company culture.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Recruitment & Onboarding:

    • Assist with the recruitment process, including posting job openings, reviewing resumes, processing stage interview payments, and managing current job postings.
    • Coordinate and assist with the onboarding of new hires, including preparing offer letters, and communicating directly with employees and managers to ensure the completion of all new hire paperwork.
    • Process tax withholding forms, I-9 documents, and E-Verify for new hires.


  • Employee Records & Documentation:

    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in compliance with company policy and legal requirements, including but not limited to pay, job, and employment status updates.
    • Manage HR documentation, including employment contracts, performance evaluations, disciplinary actions, incident reports, etc.
    • Assist in updating and maintaining employee handbooks and HR policies as needed.
    • Assist with audits, recordkeeping, and reporting to ensure company adherence to all employment laws and regulations.
    • Enter weekly personnel and recruiting information into Operational Dashboards for leadership review.

  • Benefits Administration:

    • Administer employee benefits programs, including health insurance, paid time off (PTO), cash advance program, and other benefits.
    • Answer unemployment requests from applicable state departments.
    • Assist employees with benefits-related inquiries and enrollment, ensuring all necessary documentation is submitted on time.
    • Track employee benefits eligibility and ensure compliance with enrollment periods.

  • Payroll Support:

    • Ensure all HR-related payroll documentation is accurate and submitted on time, including updates to pay rates, employee status, and benefits deductions.

  • Employee Relations:

    • Act as a point of contact for employee inquiries related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits.
    • Assist with resolving workplace conflicts and employee concerns, escalating issues to senior leadership as needed.
    • Support employee engagement initiatives and contribute to building a positive and inclusive workplace culture.

  • General HR Support:

    • Provide administrative support to the HR department, including preparing reports, maintaining HR systems, and organizing HR files.
    • Assist with special HR projects, such as employee surveys and creating requested employee reports.
    • Assist in the coordination of manager training programs, including scheduling sessions, preparing materials, and tracking completion.

Evaluation Metrics:

  • Timeliness and accuracy in handling employee records, payroll, and benefits documentation.

  • Positive feedback from employees regarding HR support and responsiveness.
  • Successful completion of recruitment and onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Compliance with labor laws and company policies.
  • Contribution to a positive work culture and employee engagement.

Compensation: The starting pay for this position is from $24 per hour.
