Join a Team Advancing Innovation in Hematologic Malignancies - Hematology/Oncology Medical Science Liaison

IQVIA is seeking experienced Medical Science Liaisons (MSLs) to support a late-stage clinical development program in Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML). This role provides the opportunity to engage with investigators, hematologists, oncologists, and other healthcare professionals at the forefront of AML research and patient care.

The MSL serves as a field-based scientific resource responsible for facilitating scientific exchange, communicating clinical and translational data, and gathering insights related to disease biology, treatment approaches, measurable residual disease (MRD), relapse risk, and evolving standards of care. The role is intended to strengthen the organization's understanding of the scientific and clinical landscape while supporting Medical Affairs and clinical development objectives through meaningful engagement with the oncology community.

Minimum Requirements

• Advanced clinical or scientific degree required; PharmD, MD, DO, PhD, DNP, NP, PA or equivalent strongly preferred from an accredited institution.
• Minimum of 4 years of Medical Science Liaison (MSL) experience or relevant clinical experience (including being a clinical development scientist in pharma/ biotech) within hematology and/or oncology.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in hematology/oncology required, with demonstrated therapeutic area expertise.
• Demonstrated track record of success in medical affairs, clinical development, clinical practice, scientific engagement, or related healthcare roles.
• Strong understanding of healthcare stakeholder segments, treatment landscapes, and market dynamics within oncology.
• Proven ability to communicate complex scientific and clinical information effectively to diverse audiences, including healthcare professionals, researchers, and key opinion leaders.
• Proficiency with business and communication technologies, including CRM platforms, Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Teams, and other digital engagement tools.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within cross-functional teams.
• Position may require compliance with client-specific site access requirements, including applicable vaccination or health screening protocols.
• Familiarity with the planning and execution of clinical trials in oncology and the processes underlying independent investigator-initiated clinical and/or translational research studies, including registries and observational studies.
• Knowledge of treatment guidelines, clinical research processes, FDA regulations and OIG guidelines.
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory.
• Willingness and ability to travel up to 70% of the time.
  
  

Preferred Experience

• Experience supporting AML, MDS, bone marrow transplant, cellular therapy, cancer immunotherapy, or related hematologic malignancies.
• Prior product launch experience within the oncology or rare disease ‘space’.
• Existing strong relationships with academic and community hematology/oncology centers.
  
  

Networking and partnering with important external customers, including medical thought leaders, academic institutions, NCI Cooperative groups (e.g., ECOG-ACRIN, SWOG, etc.), various clinical trial consortia, large group community practices, medical directors of clinical groups, CMS and insurance carriers, as well as oncology pharmacy directors.

Position Descriptions And Duties

Scientific Exchange & Stakeholder Engagement

• Develop and maintain scientific relationships with KOLs, academic investigators, community hematology/oncology leaders, and priority institutions across the assigned territory.
• Engage in compliant, peer-to-peer scientific discussions regarding AML, hematologic malignancies, immunotherapy approaches, mechanisms of action, clinical trial data, biomarkers, MRD, relapse risk, and evolving standards of care.
• Communicate complex clinical and scientific information clearly and credibly to diverse external stakeholders, including physicians, researchers, advanced practice providers, pharmacists, nurses, and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Support disease-state education, scientific education programs, advisory boards, investigator meetings, and other medical activities, as appropriate and in accordance with approved materials and compliance requirements.
• Tactically execute scientific exchange with healthcare professionals (HCPs), KOLs, formulary committees, and other key stakeholders using client company-approved material.
• Identify medical community training and educational needs.
• Serve as a first and direct point of contact for investigators for the initiation of investigator-initiated studies.
• Provide investigators with technical support for study development.
• Identify and communicate key clinical and research issues from industry leaders to MSL leadership to help shape company research, development, marketing plans and strategies.
• Maintain clinical expertise through aggressive self-education, including attendance at relevant conferences, scientific workshops and review of key journals.
• Increase client company visibility with current and future thought leaders.
• Enhance professional interaction between client company and industry leaders.
  
  

Insight Generation & Strategic Medical Intelligence

• Capture and communicate actionable field insights related to unmet medical needs, clinical practice patterns, treatment barriers, evidence gaps, stakeholder perceptions, patient identification, sequencing considerations, and adoption considerations.
• Synthesize external insights into clear, objective themes and strategic recommendations that inform Medical Affairs, Clinical Development, evidence generation, scientific communications, and launch readiness activities.
• Monitor and communicate developments in the competitive landscape, emerging data, clinical trial activity, guideline evolution, congress intelligence, and investigator interests within AML and related hematologic malignancies.
• Serve as the voice of external oncology stakeholders internally, ensuring field-derived perspectives are integrated into strategic planning and cross-functional decision-making.
  
  

Clinical Development & Research Support

• Identify and cultivate relationships with current and potential clinical trial investigators, research centers, cooperative groups, and institutions with expertise in AML, MDS, transplant, cellular therapy, and related hematologic malignancies.
• Identify, establish and maintain collaborative relationships with key investigators/ key opinion leaders and institutions strategic to the effective use of company products at a tactical level.
• Support scientific discussions related to ongoing and planned clinical development programs, including trial awareness and site engagement activities, as appropriate.
• Maintain current knowledge of relevant clinical literature, congress data, trial designs, endpoints, and emerging therapeutic approaches in hematologic oncology.
• Identify clinical research opportunities that are consistent with company objectives.
  
  

Medical Affairs Collaboration & Execution

• Partner with Medical Affairs leadership and cross-functional colleagues to execute the field medical plan
• Document scientific interactions and insights accurately and timely in the appropriate CRM or insight management system.
• Maintain the highest standards of scientific integrity, ethics, and compliance in all external and internal activities.

The potential base pay range for this role is $170,000-$210,000 annually. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
