Pre-Analytical Services Assistant

Job Summary

The Pre-Analytical Services Assistant supports routine activities related to the receipt, inspection, and handling of clinical specimens. This is an office-based role operating Tuesday–Saturday from 12:00 PM to 8:30 PM, ensuring timely and accurate specimen processing.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assist with receipt of consignments and shipments
• Open shipments and perform quality checks of patient information forms, escalating discrepancies or damage
• Dispose of or recycle kit shipping supplies in accordance with procedures
• Conduct secondary checks to ensure no specimens remain in packaging
• Support after-hours alarms and other critical operational functions
• Assist with maintenance of equipment and supply inventory management
• Perform administrative tasks and maintain organized workstations
• Follow all safety procedures and applicable regulatory guidelines
  
  

What We Are Looking For

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Basic computer skills for data entry and workflow tracking
• Understanding of specimen handling or laboratory support processes
• Other equivalent combination of education, training, and experience may be accepted in lieu of degree
  
  

The Knowledge, Skills And Abilities Needed For This Role

• Ability to maintain effective reporting procedures and control workflow
• Strong attention to detail when handling clinical materials and documentation
• Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers, and clients
  
  

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, frequent standing and walking, occasional sitting, close eye work requirement (computer, typing, reading small prints). Physical demands vary depending on assigned work area and work tasks. Occasional exposure to cold temperatures.

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $24,400.00 - $50,900.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
