Job Description
Ipswich Public Schools is seeking a dynamic, qualified professional to fill a unique dual-role position for the upcoming school year. This full-time position combines a 0.6 FTE Health Teacher role with a 0.4 FTE Athletic Trainer role, offering a comprehensive opportunity to impact student wellness both in the classroom and on the athletic field.
Health Education (0.6 FTE)
- Teach three (3) sections of Health Education per semester.
- Develop and deliver engaging, curriculum-aligned lesson plans that promote physical, mental, and emotional well-being.
- Assess and monitor student progress, maintaining accurate grading records and constructive feedback.
- Create a supportive, inclusive classroom environment conducive to learning and personal growth.
Athletic Training (0.4 FTE)
- Fulfill the comprehensive duties of an Athletic Trainer for the duration of the entire school year.
- Provide preventative care, emergency triage, evaluation, and rehabilitation for student-athletes.
- Oversee injury management, concussion protocols, and return-to-play clearances in coordination with medical professionals.
- Attend home athletic events and practices as designated by the Athletic Director.
Required Qualifications & Licensures
Candidates must possess the following credentials at the time of application:
- Valid Massachusetts Health/Family Consumer Science License (issued by the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education - DESE).
- Valid Athletic Trainer License issued by the Massachusetts Board of Registration of Allied Health Professionals.
- Current CPR/AED and First Aid certifications.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with students, parents, coaches, and administration.
