Forklift Mechanic - Jersey City, NJ

• This will be a Full-time role working Mon.-Fri. 7 am3:30 pmm
• Pay range will be $50-55K with full benefits (Health, Dental, Vision, Life insurance, and 401k w/ up to 4% company match)
• Candidates need to have a minimum of 2-4yrs experience working on Electric Forklift and pallet jacks
• We are looking for candidates that have a steady track record regarding tenure (no job-hopping candidates)
• Bilingual in Spanish is a plus but not necessary.

A leader in the food industry based in Jersey City, NJ, is seeking a forklift maintenance mechanic to inspect, diagnose, and repair material handling equipment. They execute routine preventative maintenance, troubleshoot electrical and hydraulic systems, and ensure all forklifts meet safety regulations to minimize warehouse downtime.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Perform routine, emergency,y and preventative maintenance of forklifts.

• Interpret manufacturer's technical manuals to perform the necessary maintenance and repairs needed.

• Troubleshoot forklift problems, including brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems; detect imperfections, potential problems, safety issues, and/or malfunctions.

• Able to diagnose and repair mast and attachment components.

• Good working knowledge of brake systems and tire/wheel changes.

• Replace broken or defective parts from stock parts and/or order replacement parts for major repairs.

• Reassemble forklifts and make all necessary adjustments for effective and safe operation.

• Perform safety inspections of forklifts before being released back to the work floor.

• Clean equipment and other areas as required.

• Ensure work area and methods used in carrying out job duties meet safety requirements.

• Maintain an organized and neat work area.

• Competent to complete legible service documents and logs for preventative maintenance tasks.

• Learn new technical information and techniques to stay current with changing technology.

Education and Experience:

High School diploma, license/certification, and one-to-two-year experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Adequate command of both English and Spanish is a plus
